The two operational arms of SIX Securities Services, the CSD, SIX SIS Ltd, and the CCP, SIX x-clear Ltd, are licensed as banks by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA). In addition, SIX x-clear Ltd is authorized as a Recognised Overseas Clearing House (ROCH) by the UK Financial Services Authority.

Market Policy at SIX Securities Services identifies, monitors and influences prudential, market and other policy initiatives in the post-trading space (clearing and settlement), at EU and global levels.
We engage with a wide range of interlocutors, including the European Commission and the European Central Bank, domestic supervisor FINMA and the Swiss National Bank, as well as with our clients.
The main current issues include the developing EU legislative framework including EMIR and the CSD legislation, as well as the revised CPSS-IOSCO Principles for Market Infrastructures.
